MEALS FOR MOMS
Help out new moms in our community by volunteering to deliver a meal to their house.

KIDS CORNER
Our primary program is the delivery of critical basics to our network of shelters. Instead of providing goods and services directly to individuals, we service a large network of local shelters and programs; many of which serve the bulk of homeless women in the area. In some cases we provide as much as 50% of the daily needs of a particular shelter serving women with infants.

  • Through donation or purchase we procure items such as diapers, formula, clothing, blankets, bedding, strollers, car seats, cribs ect. and inventory them in our "crib corner" space.
  • We take incoming calls on a daily basis for items that are needed for our affiliated shelters.
  • We deliver necessary supplies on a weekly or as needed basis to the shelters.

BACKPACK PROGRAM
With the assistance of local merchants, parishioners, and members of Magnolia Moms, we create and deliver 150+ back to school backpacks to Seattle homeless children.

Just imagine as a child if you did not have basic school supplies for the first day of school. Magnolia Moms help provide these children with the necessities to start their school year off right. Backpacks are filled with grade-appropriate school supply items. The joy these items bring is truly heartwarming. The children are excited and prepared for the new school year!

The increase in homeless children has created an additional challenge in filling our backpacks. We would appreciate any contribution you can make to help make the Back to School Backpacks for this year's mothers and their children more meaningful.

Your contribution of any of the following is appreciated.

  • Pens, pencils
  • 2 pocket folders
  • Crayons, markers, colored pencils
  • Rulers, sharpeners, protractors, scissors
  • Spiral notebooks, 3 ring binders
  • Pencil boxes, pencil pouches

EASTER BASKETS
With the assistance of local merchants, parishioners, and members of Magnolia Moms, we create and deliver over 200 Easter baskets to Seattle women, moms, and children who are in transitional housing. Though the baskets are tied to Easter, the recipients do not need to be of any religious affiliation. In 2008 we delivered 211 baskets.

Baskets are filled with candy, age appropriate toy items, books, school-supplies, and toiletries. The joy these baskets bring is truly heartwarming. Beyond candy and toys, things such as having your own shampoo and conditioner, or your own coloring book, are cherished luxuries for these women and children.

The increase in Seattle's homeless has created additional challenge in filling our baskets. We appreciate any contribution you can make to help make Easter Baskets for this year's mother and children more meaningful.

Your contribution of any of the following is appreciated:

  • Candy
  • Books
  • Art/school supplies
  • Small toys and games (Infant-12 yrs.)
  • Full size toiletries for women (shampoo, condition, deodorant, soap ect..)
  • Infant care items (bottles, sippy cups, baby shampoo/soap)
  • Toothbrushes and toothpaste

In 2008 over 30 vendors participated and we had over 200 people attend this successful event!  Admission is a coat for our Coat Drive. Vendors donate a portion of their profits as well. Highlights were a fashion show, overnight shopping trip raffles, and great food.
